6 simple tips to help get back into balance

From one mom to another, it’s hard work balancing your family and professional life, whether it’s a 9-5 job or your own business. No doubt being a mom is rewarding but challenging nonetheless. I homeschooled three kids for six years while running a business and maintaining a healthy marriage. It’s not bragging. I’m saying it’s no easy job.

To me, balance is critical; however, balance is about self! It is something you can’t do externally alone. It requires internal work.
Connecting and aligning with your true self brings about harmony. Remain in touch with your higher self, in tune with who you are, and let Source guide you. When you find an internal balance, the external happens automatically.
How can we find peace within to live abundantly with our families, children, and be abundant in the workplace?

Proper balance is not a juggling act or multi-tasking. Balancing is about being fully present, every time, in every situation. Inbalance happens, in our attempts to please everyone, and get to everything. What if we were to focus on pleasing ourselves? Doing the things that bring well-being to us, everything else falls into balance.

“Getting in balance is not so much about adopting new strategies to change your behaviors, as it is about realigning yourself in all of your thoughts so as to create a balance between what you desire and how you conduct your life on a daily basis.”

Wayne Dyer

These tips may help you achieve proper balance:

1. CONNECT TO YOUR HIGHER SELF:

Save yourself first. You can’t stabilize me if you’re unstable yourself. To find balance, you have to prioritize self-care and wellness first. Take time for yourself, you can’t give what you don’t have. How you ask? You can do that through meditation – meditation is going quiet and allowing your higher self to speak to you. Try waking up a few hours before the kids, and go to sleep after them. Use that time to read, plan, prep, meditate, exercise and even cleaning quietly. Nurture your own personal mental health is essential when it comes to balance.

Self-care is, fundamentally, about bringing balance back to a life that has grown imbalanced from too many commitments or responsibilities.

Another way is to rest properly. Naps are not just for the kids. Taking a nap boost your productivity. It does not mean you’re lazy. It’s scientically proven that taking naps helps you with balance lol. There are many health benefits associated with taking regular power naps, among them long-term memory improvementTrusted Source, enhanced cognitive function, and increased creativity. Research also shows that naps might be beneficial for heart health. according to Medicalnewstoday.com

2. DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF:

Being an awesome mom doesn’t mean you have to get to everything on the same day. It’s okay if you dont get to the laundry today, or if the dishes stay overnight. Have your kids help with the  laundry, prepping dinner, and vacuuming.

3. IT OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP:

Hire someone to clean the house, hubby can take care of the meals a few nights, right? Order pick up or have your groceries delivered (I use this all the time, it save time and money). Automation, outsourcing and delegating are necessities for productive work life. Another way to ask for help is through prayer – prayer is when you go and talk to your higher self and seek advice.

4. KNOW YOU’RE IN CONTROL:

Whenever someone is looking for balance, you can almost see that they think it’s outside of them. balance is within your control, it’s within you. As long as you keep looking outside of you, you will find no harmany with the things you must get done.

You really have to look inside yourself and find your own inner strength, and say, ‘I’m proud of what I am and who I am.’ –

Mariah Carey
5. HAVE A SCHEDULE:

Having a schedule is such a big deal that no corporation today will hire you without giving you a weekly schedule. Running your home should be like running a successful business. If you are homeschooling the kids, running your business, and want to make time for yourself, get on a schedule. Think about scheduling playtime, wellness visits, self-care, date nights, and everything else you need to stay on track.

6. MEAL PLAN:

You dont have to stock up little plates in the fridge, but you can meal plan for 3 out of 7 days at a time and store them in big containers. Meal prepping will save you a lot of time when you dont have time to get to the kitchen and spend hours preparing meals. There are many youtube videos and sites that can teach you how to meal prep or meal prep your regular meals.

  1. I love this post! These are the exact kind of things I love incorporating into my life. It took some learning but asking for help is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.

  2. I liked the ‘it’s ok to ask for help’ section. Sometimes being a parent can feel so alienating yet this completely self made. Lots of people out there willing to help
